2020 Weißburgunder & Chardonnay Gutswein dry
We pick the grapes for our estate wines from our younger vineyards and from vineyards that are not on the Petersberg in Gau-Odernheim. The first early harvest of our local wine vineyards also come into the Gutswein.
The wine:
Fine fruit, yellow fruit and some almond. Elegant, finely salty minerality with a gentle, slightly creamy acidity.
Origin:
Rheinhessen | Gau-Odernheim und Umgebung
Grape variety:
70 % Pinot blanc & 30 % Chardonnay
Viticulture: 90 % stainless steel | 10 % wooden barrel
The harvest is followed by a short maceration of 6 to 12 hours. The musts remain unadorned and are fermented spontaneously with the grape's own yeast in stainless steel. The fermented wines also remain unadorned until they are filled on the yeast.
