2016 Spätburgunder Herrgottspfad
Our single-vineyard wines represent the top of the winery. They are only pressed from the best fully ripe grapes from these vineyards with the greatest effort and the lowest yields. The location is completely south-facing and has the shape of an amphitheater. It is strongly protected from the wind and it gets really hot here in summer.
The wine:
Red berry fruit on the nose, wild cherry. On the palate, exciting cool elegance paired with salt from marl lime. The wine has an elegant depth with a well-integrated tannin structure. Dense with a lot of pressure but not intrusive, pure elegance. A great Pinot with a lot of potential.
Origin:
Rheinhessen | Gau-Odernheim | Petersberg | Herrgottspfad
Grape variety:
100 % Pinot Noir
Viticulture: 100 % Barrique
The fully ripe grapes are picked by hand in several passes. This is followed by a maceration time of 12 hours. Fermentation takes place spontaneously on the mash, with a subsequent standing time after fermentation of 6-8 weeks. The wine remains unadorned and matures 50% in new and 50% in French barriques from second occupancy. After 24-30 months, it is filled unfiltered. The wine then matures in the bottle for another 12 months.
