2019 Gau-Odernheimer Spätburgunder
Our local wines come from the best vineyards on the Petersberg in Gau-Odernheim. It is their origin, the soils and locations that give the local wines their unique character. The vineyards are on the Petersberg. It is the older vineyards that are selected in several harvest passes.
The wine:
An elegant Pinot Noir characterized by the salty mineral. Cool aromas with wild fruit and red berries. Fine, the herbaceous spice with a lot of zest and good finish. The wood is finely integrated. The wine comes with a lot of pressure and presence on the palate, yet elegant and finely crafted.

Viticulture: 100 % Barrique
The fully ripe grapes are picked by hand in several passes. This is followed by a maceration time of 12 hours. Fermentation takes place spontaneously on the mash, with a subsequent standing time after fermentation of 4-6 weeks. The wine remains unadorned and matures 30% in new barriques, 30% in barriques from the second occupancy and the rest in third and fourth occupancy. After 15-18 months, it is filled unfiltered.
